Care & Cleaning
With the proper care, your granite or marble countertop will stay new-looking for years. Stone is one of the easiest surfaces to maintain. And granite, being 7 on the Mohs hardness scale of 1 to 10, is virtually unscratchable. (A knife blade is a 6 on the scale.)
A few drops of washing liquid with warm water can clean the service but may leave it streaky. We recommend you use a natural stone cleaning kit to achieve the best possible result on your granite worktop.
We sell an approved natural stone care kit which contains:
- Neutral surface cleaner-an acid and solvent free cleaner for daily and deep cleaning of your stones and tiles
- Stone impregnator-a water based protector for your stones and tiles against water and all kind of stains such as coffee, wine or oil. This chemical is recommended to be used after your cleaning
- Polishing wax-a cream polishing wax which will make your stone shiny. It is recommended to use after the impregnator
- The kit also contains applicators with one spray, one soft cloth and one sponge.
